Our Guide to Stainless Steel

Stainless steel's beauty lies in its quiet strength. The lustre, the weight and the clean lines together bring a sense of considered modernity, while the resilience of the material means a piece can move through years of daily life without losing what makes it beautiful.

Industrial in nature yet timeless in feel, stainless steel sits comfortably across traditions, found in some of the world's most refined interiors. Our designs lean into this duality, with thoughtful silhouettes and substantial proportions that allow the form and presence of the material to lead.

Stainless steel is a living material in its own way. Subtle tonal shifts, fine surface marks and the soft warming of its surface are part of how the material settles into a home, not faults to be hidden. We see this as your piece developing alongside you, and one of the reasons stainless steel only becomes better with age.

Material Notes

Not all stainless steel is created equal. We work exclusively with premium grade 306 stainless, chosen for its distinctive finish, exceptional durability and the quality it allows us to achieve. While significantly more costly than aluminium or lower-grade alternatives, it offers the integrity and longevity we look for in every piece.

Our stainless steel products were once made to a standard width, but with the introduction of new styles, widths now vary across the range. Edges are flat but softened by hand to remove any sharpness, and we work in both brushed and polished finishes to honour the natural character of the material.

Stainless Steel Care

With simple, regular care, stainless steel keeps its lustre and ages gracefully. Wipe up spills as they happen, use coasters and placemats to protect the surface, and avoid alkaline, acidic or abrasive cleaners. For everyday upkeep, we recommend a purpose-designed stainless steel cleaner and protector. Read our full stainless steel care guide here.

Styling our designs

A material with quiet authority, stainless steel has the ability to elevate a space without needing anything extra. Left bare, our pieces hold their own. Whether it's a sculptural side table or a small decor piece, stainless brings a clean, calm note to a room.

Stainless steel is a beautiful feature in its own right. The lustre, the weight and the sculptural silhouettes are characteristics worth celebrating. Lean into these qualities and let the piece sit as a statement.

The cool restraint of stainless invites simplicity in styling. A single sculptural vase, a small bowl or a few well-chosen books are often all a piece needs to feel complete, particularly in smaller, more pared-back spaces.

Stainless steel comes alive alongside other materials. Its cool surface reads beautifully against the luxury of marble, the warmth of timber and the softness of leather. We love pairing our Elio timber chairs with a stainless dining table for exactly this kind of balance.
