Tell us about a day in your life.
Everyday truly is completely different. These days I typically split my time between my small business HIKUU and influencing, so a regular day will be a mix of creating content for my own social media channels, liaising with clients for upcoming projects, onboarding new stockists for HIKUU and shipping customer orders. There might also be a media event or meeting thrown into the mix too, depending on the day.
Do you have a favourite story about a piece you own (this could be clothes, furniture, art etc.)?
Not so much a story, but my favourite piece of furniture that I own is this vintage Danish bookcase. It was one of the first pieces of furniture I purchased when I moved into my apartment and is always a talking point with guests as the bookcase is filled with memories and knick-knacks I’ve picked up along the way on my travels.
What inspires you?
These days I feel the most inspired when I travel and experience new cultures, places and people. I try to maintain inspiration by carving out time in my weeks to just be creative, without pressure, in whatever way feels interesting to me in that moment.
You recently launched your brand HIKUU which is no easy feat, what have you learned so far?
Launching a new business has been quite the learning curve and I find myself faced with a new challenge almost daily, but the main thing I have learnt is that you truly can’t do everything yourself. Although the team is currently still very small, it is growing and as someone who has worked autonomously for over 10 years now, leaning into relinquishing control of certain tasks has been challenging but also necessary in order for the company to grow.
What are your must-have pieces from our collection?
I love the Palermo in Stainless Steel and the Cookie Side Table in Cream Travertine!
